16 Hour Outdoor Remote First Aid

QNUK (RQF) Award Level 3

This 16 hour 2 day outdoor first aid course meets the requirements set out by the Institute of Outdoor Learning at band 4  and is suitable for schools expedition first aid requirements.

Other practical assessment days available.

Attend just one long day plus a morning and your online modules. (To be completed prior to your Practical days assessment)

This course covers the requirement (and more)  for Mountain Leaders as stated on the Mountain Training.org web site see below.

  • Calling for help
  • Methods and limitations of evacuation
  • Common conditions, e.g. asthma, epilepsy, angina and diabetes
  • Cold injuries including hypothermia and frost nip/bite
  • Heat injuries including burns, heat exhaustion, heat stroke, blisters, dehydration
  • Drowning/near drowning
  • Electric shock (lightning for example)
  • Bites and stings, including sheep/deer ticks.
  • Substance abuse and poisoning.

The system.

This blended learning Outdoor First Aid course is ideal for those working in the Snowsports teaching environment. N.B. Not solely for snowsports, can be used for other institutions. Recognised by Snowsport governing bodies BASI/IASI etc and other outdoor activity institutions.  The added module within the World Class Training course will include the correct use of a spinal board and the process of working in teams. This is very useful when teaching your ski / walking groups for example. Outdoor first aid is a must for those engaged with looking after people in an outdoor environment. Moorland/mountains/sea and river activities.

This RQF 16 hour course is suitable for those requiring the qualification for mountain leaders etc.

The trainers.

Our trainers are all ‘Outdoor Instructors’ with various governing bodies, so, their knowledge and experience in this field ensures you have the best practical skills for dealing with accidents in an open environment.

On successful completion of the course we will send your certificate via email in a PDF format.
