SNOWSPORTS SAFEGUARDING CHILD PROTECTION

40 – 60 MINUTES DURATION.

A simple to use and a very informative online course. Accepted by BASI and IASI for the requirement for your safeguarding module. Designed specifically for snowsport teachers working in the industry.

Description

 SAFEGUARDING in Snowsports.

The Safeguarding course is aimed at snowsports professionals. Those  working within or setting out on a BASI, or ISIA, course for example. It is a required module in the snowsports teacher course.

BASI and IASI accepted and approved.

COURSE DURATION;

40 – 60 Minutes.

The course has  references to aspects of working within our specific environment.  It is geared towards the snowsports industry and as such, is far more relevant than a pure ‘generic’ safeguarding children course.

The easy to follow structure and informative slides you will gather new information and learn the basics of Safeguarding Children in the snowsports environment. There are many factors which are introduced. These may open up issues when dealing with and caring for children within the mountains.

The questions and mini tests along the way in this course keep you ‘on track’ and check your learning as you go.

  • Designed by an e-learning professional, the content and ease of use have been specifically designed to keep you engaged with the approximately 45-minute process.
  • In additionyou will need these skills when working within the ski/snowboard school. After all, these little ones are our future clients. Therefore, care for them well!

We are very proud of our new developments here at WCT and this is a first of many ‘bespoke’ online courses.

Enjoy!

BASI FAQ’s

  • Although a current Safeguarding Children module is not currently required to keep your BASI licence valid, employers may ask for proof that your knowledge in this area is up-to-date, especially if you are going to be working with children. Completing regular refreshers is a good way to do this.

  1. New Generation (verified owner)

New Generation Instructor Courses began using this course as part of the BASI Level 1 and 2 gap course in winter 2017/18.

This course is perfect for the snowsports industry – the examples are relevant to instructing on snow in the environment we work in, rather than sweeping statements. It makes the learning experience much more interesting and useful to trainee instructors.

We will continue to use this course in the foreseeable future and have a great experience working with Alex.

  2. Lee

SnoworksGAP ski instructor courses added the WCT Safeguarding children module 3 years ago and it has proven to be a fantastic addition to our qualification content. The course is very well structured to be specific and suitable to the ski industry at all levels especially the early stages as an awareness and education process for new and trainee instructors heading into the environment where they will be working with children. This will certainly remain part of our program and comes with our strongest recommendation. Great job Alex and team WCT

  3. Layla Braidwod (verified owner)

The power points were clear and simple to understand and well presented

  4. Andy McIntosh

Interski started using the WCT Safeguarding Children Module for winter 18/19. The course has been really good for all our students on our Gap Courses. The examples are specific to snowsports, the course well structured and we will be happy to use WCT in the future!

    Great job everyone at WCT!
